The Spear of Woden
On the summit of the Mountain of the Gods, Woden rules over time. He foresees bad times coming, but cannot prevent this from coming. The shaft of his Holy Spear is stuck firmly in the Glass Mountain. The growing darkness spreads, the Light of the Sun dims, and the Midnight Land writhes in distress. The bodies of the Fallen Heroes decay at the foot of the Midnight Mountain. The Army of Darkness closes in from the West, the mass of speechless ones rolls in wildly from the East. Woden mourns on the summit of the Mountain of the World. The Home of the Gods is lost. There is no longer joy and mirth as they arm for battle. Freya weeps Tears of Gold for her Folk.
Then Woden looks up to the limits of the Highest Light, where Freya weeps her Tears of Gold. He hears the voice of Freya - 'Lord Woden! Guardian of the Midnight Mountain, throw your Spear against the enemy! Save our Folk!' 'Oh Freya, how gladly I would do what you tell me to do! But the people lie down, the kingdom is crushed, countless is the violence of our enemies, Wid-Ar the liberator is not yet here'. Freya looked at him - 'O Woden! See what has come from below rules over the Earth World and rules our Folk, who once came from Above. Do not allow the lowest to rule over the highest! Throw your Spear! The one who is ours, who catches the Spear, will be the Coming One.'
Woden let out a piercing yell, tore out the Spear from the Sacred Mountain, lifted it, and threw it with an almighty force towards the Earth. Like a Blazing Comet, the Flaming Spear hurled onwards towards the Earthly World. Freya commanded the stars to shine a new Invisible Light. As the Flaming Spear crashed into the Earthly World - appearing like a Blazing Comet from the Heavens - it gave birth to the Folk a New Will, a New Rage, a New Fury - and a New Weapon. The Coming One rose up from the People and he seized the Spear of Woden shook it fiercely and hurled into the Enemy. A mighty struggle began, a horrific war against the Servants of Darkness who were defeated by the Sons of Light.
All this will come to pass, all this will be!
